How my adventure began
I was fortunate enough to spend a summer in the UK and Ireland in college. It was then that I was officially bitten by the travel bug. What a life changing and mind expanding trip that was traveling with my fellow English majors, drinking at pubs frequented by Tolkien and touring the childhood home of Shakespeare. I returned home with a new perspective on the world and a thirst for my next adventure.
After college my first job was in the hospitality industry working at a corporate events company. They took me to St. Petersburg, FL for an all expenses paid familiarization trip and as a broke, 22 year-old I knew I’d found the industry for me. My next role was with a high-end travel agency where I began as a receptionist and quickly began planning elaborate itineraries to Europe, Napa Valley, and all over the world. I spent my days being exposed to the loveliest vacation spots on the planet. I did a little bit of traveling and a lot of dreaming in those days. When I wasn’t planning trips for clients, I was creating my own fantasy itineraries for when I got the chance to travel myself.
Eventually I left the travel business to start a career in human resources, where I earned enough money to make a few of those travel dreams come true. I never stopped creating itineraries and planning trips for my friends and family. My obsession for research and fine details keeps trip planning evergreen for me.
In 2018 I planned my own family’s trip to Disney World, which if you’ve done it, you know is a true hour-by-hour itinerary situation. I loved that exercise, and our trip, so much that I decided to become a certified Disney Travel Agent and conceived of Bird Song Adventures.
I can’t wait to help you plan your next adventure. Spread your wings.
